The FinTech Innovation Awards honour the highest achievements from the global financial and payments technology industries over the past year, celebrating teams and individuals who are blazing a trail within the sector.


The 2016 Event

On 13th April 2016, over 500 FinTech influencers and innovators gathered at The Brewery in the City of London for an evening of celebration, networking and entertainment.

The event featured live music, a Champagne reception, three-course dinner, awards ceremony and dancing until late. Set against the stunning backdrop of The Brewery’s award-winning, Grade II listed venue, it was a night to remember.



Dan Ariely, James B. Duke Professor of Psychology & Behavioral Economics at Duke University is a founding member of the Center for Advanced Hindsight, co-creator of the film documentary (Dis)Honesty: The Truth About Lies, and a three-time New York Times bestselling author. His books include Predictably Irrational, The Upside of Irrationality, The Honest Truth About Dishonesty, and Irrationally Yours.



An innovation and entrepreneurship evangelist, Julia regularly hosts and speaks at City and corporate events. She also provides consultancy to FinTech firms and appears on BBC radio as a commentator on business, comedy, and the comedy of business.

Matt Hancock was appointed Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General on 11 May 2015. He was elected Conservative MP for West Suffolk on 6 May 2010. Matt’s previous roles in the government included Minister of State for Energy, Minister for Small Business, Industry and Enterprise and Minister of State for Skills and Enterprise. He has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Exeter College, University of Oxford, and a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge.



The Brewery is the premier event and fine dining venue in the City of London, situated in the beautiful and truly historic Grade II listed buildings of Whitbread’s 18th Century beer-making empire. The unique setting, combined with its proximity to the ‘Silicon Roundabout’ of Old Street and the creative community in nearby Shoreditch, made it a fitting location to celebrate the very best in FinTech innovation.
